INTRODUCTION
Adri Funerailles is a Spanish guitarist, songwriter and producer founder of Black Heavy Metal act ANTIQUARY and ex-member of the Contemporary Metal band ASTRAY VALLEY.
He is currently guitarist for COBRA SPELL.
He began into the music world at the age of 7, when his mother asked him if he would like to study music in a local school. He chose to play a very simple instrument as the recorder is, instrument that will result as a good training for finger coordination at the age of 13, when he received his first electric guitar as a christmas present.
Adri got into Rock music because of his interest in his uncle’s vinyl and cassette collection. Bands such as Queen, Guns N’ Roses, Tesla, Metallica, Helloween… were in his daily play-along bedroom guitar jams. Along the years he got more into extreme music, listening to bands such as Children Of Bodom, Immortal, Darkthrone, Cannibal Corpse, Bathory…a huge inspiration for his later style.
Adri’s playing and compositions combine both fast Black Metal picking and Heavy-melodic riffing that create an epic, powerful and harmonic atmosphere on his songs.
ANTIQUARY
Adri Funerailles started writing Black Metal music under the name of ANTIQUARY at the age of 21, uploading his music on YouTube and Soundcloud, where he received very positive impressions for his old school, raw style and his cold vocal screaming.
In 2020 he contacted his friend Inner Void to join him, and since then has become a project run by two.
For Adri, ANTIQUARY is a project that must avoid any unnecessary artist help: Drawing, writing, photographing, recording, editing and making everything in general by the band itself is what makes this project so unique, and the mix of different musical tastes is a huge variant on the resulting songs too.
Lyrics of the songs are also manifestations of what Adri Funerailles (or known just as A.F.) has been put on through his working times as a gravedigger and a crematory operator, but he also steps aside a bit further from death writing about some melancholic aspects of nature, as seen in the latest ANTIQUARY works.
ASTRAY VALLEY
Adri Funerailles joined the Modern Metal band ASTRAY VALLEY in the year 2018, just when their first album “Unneth” was being released.
Adri has been involved in a lot of shows since then, starting with “Unneth”‘s international release tour that covered most of the European territory.
His musical contribution can be found on ASTRAY VALLEY’s “Tales Of Lun” EP and “Midnight Sun” LP. A darker, heavier atmosphere can be spotted on such works, all coming from his Black Metal backdrop.
He’s also a synthesizer admirer, so he also produced many soundscapes and melody lines for the records.
